Children’s Success Program, Kung Fu for Kids

King Edwards Public School asked us to create a 10 week kung fu session for teens. This was part of the children’s success program. Our goal was to empower kids who may be shy or lack confidence. The children were hand picked by the school. I was impressed to see how much the school believed in this program, the children would be taken out of math or french to attend kung-fu. The program was an absolute success I witnessed the kids grow in strength, focus, and confidence. Here is a short clip.

In this scene taken from Enter the Dragon Bruce Lee demonstrates the effectiveness of the explosive punching style of Wing Chung kung fu. The body is trained to become like a spring, quick explosions in the waist release immense power into the arms. This skill is called “Fa-Jing” in Chinese martial arts. The body is trained to act as whip or a chain. In our program all students learn to develop this skill.
