As you advance in the Sash system you will learn the various animal styles that teach you grappling, locks, pressure points, take-downs, as well as the study of weapons: Boken, Butterfly Swords, Long Staff, 3-Sectional Staff and Tai Chi sword. Energy Warrior Tai Chi Chuan

Tai Chi Chuan is generally seen as a health exercise, but it is also a powerful system of self-defense where every movement in the set is the response to an attacker. We provide a setting where you can partake in the meditative and graceful movements of classical tai chi, cultivating your internal power which is then expressed in the martial applications embedded in the form. You will learn the 108 Yang Style set, it’s poetic names and various interpretations of techniques. As an intermediate player you will learn the double edged sword of tai chi. Becoming an Energy Warrior means that you will have a strong and powerful internal and external life force.

Wu Xing Sisters {women’s self-defense}

Our goal is to empower you with practical, effective self-defense. How do you escape from a choke hold? What do you do when someone grabs you from behind? How can you respond quickly to an incoming punch or someone running directly for you? In 1701 a nun (Ng Moi) at the Shaolin temple created an exceptional fighting system later on called Wing Chung. Her style is designed from the perspective of overcoming stronger opponents and overtime it has grown to become the most practiced style of Kung Fu, made famous by Bruce Lee. We use Ng Moi’s insight into the art of fighting. You will learn how to deal with real life situations and develop a complete arsenal of strikes, grappling (locks) and pressure points and own a skill that you can count on.

Spiritual Warrior

Spiritual Warrior is an innovative program that combines Spiritual Studies with the study of Kung Fu or Tai Chi. In today’s culture you can see it as the Urban Temple, where you are dedicating a minimum of 2 years of your life to martial training and spritual studies. In addition to scheduled classes you will have readings from various texts, lectures, small group discussions and one on one conversations with Sifu. This is one of the signature programs of our school and we would be honoured to have you as part of it.

Our School welcomes students of all creeds. This unique leadership program however is intended exclusively for Christian Martial Artists. Develop the heart of a lion and the mind of a strategist. Deepen your understanding of Scripture in a free discussion setting while studying the Martial & Healing Arts. Partake in a community that has love as it’s glue and foundation. Dragon Warriors 7-12 year olds

Kung Fu for Kids plants seeds that last a lifetime. We are here to help your children develop discipline and focus in a fun and exciting setting. Our program is based on the 5 animal styles of Crane, Dragon, Leopard, Snake and Tiger; Creativity will abound by exploring the art in this way. As a traditional school, we empahsize honour, respect for elders, truthfulness and compassion. We can work together to bring health, skill and character to everyone in your family.  As a father I greatly value Kung Fu for kids.

Little Dragons 5-7 year olds

The Dragon Warrior program is designed for kids aged 5-7 yrs. old of any energy level.  Every week we will explore the 5 animals [leopard, crane, tiger, snake and dragon] through martial movement and artistic play.  Your child will learn short forms, practice techniques, roll, tumble, jump, spin, and….sit in Silence. Practice makes perfect with the theme of fun.  All classes are run in a traditional setting with code of respect and honour.  We will help your child become more focused and cultivate their character through the accomplishment of tasks in addition to learning the fascinating  and magical  art of Kung Fu.  This class is limited to 12 students.

Krav Maga

Experience Krav Maga, a self-defense system that prepares you for real life situations. Learn to defend yourself against chokes, holds, knife, gun and stick attacks, multiple aggressors. The classes will increase your fitness level and give you skills and confidence. Check schedule for class times.

Wu Xing Bootcamp

“A healthy soul clings to a healthy mind and a healthy body.”  That is the core principle behind the Wu-Xing Bootcamp.  A program designed to make you feel better about the way you look, challenge your mental toughness, and take your martial arts to the next level.  The Bootcamp program will see student’s improving their strength, flexibility, endurance, and body composition through a variety of 1 hour sessions developed through years of research and experience by the Wu-Xing staff.

This is a bootcamp, so expect to be whipped into shape*.  A typical class involves a hardcore workout set to high-energy music, punching, kicking, teamwork drills, shadowboxing, grappling, and more.  We promise you’ll be gasping for breath and loving every minute of it.  Transform yourself!  It’s possible, and the Wu-Xing Bootcamp is the way.

*note: any individual may participate regardless of fitness level, so feel free to go at your own pace.

Kung Fu for Baby-Boomers

I often get people who are 50 years and older revealing to me that they have a desire to study kung fu but they fear that the season has  passed. I could not disagree more. My best students are Boomers. They are usually more disciplined and dedicated. Kung Fu is a life style,  and a profound health system that can benefit all people. I think that after a life of hard work a Boomer is at place where he/she deserves to take the time to explore their love for the art of Bruce Lee. To welcome you to our school, we have created a unique program designed for Boomers. You have to be 45 years or older to join. All classes are done with music from the 50’s 60’s & 70’s with lots of stretching and warm ups to prepare the body. The program is based around the exploration of classical Kung Fu forms and self-defense applications, it’s the real stuff. Every student is provided with seasonal diet recommendations, herbs, teas and vitamins based on Chinese Medicine.  Also, if your  body has an ailment, we’re here to help!
